{GB} Wedding Favors On A Budget

Planning a wedding does not necessarily mean you have dig yourself into a financial hole before you and your spouse start your new life together. With a little creativity and research, you can find incredible deals on many different wedding expenses. A perfect example of this are wedding favors many couples give to their bridesmaids and groomsmen.

For a quick, convenient option that your friends will actually be able to use, sunglasses work perfectly. Of course, there is no need to buy everyone a pair of $200 Gucci sunglasses. Any department store offers nearly identical options for a fraction of the cost.

Another excellent option and memorable gift is a framed poster. Choose a different poster for each person, tailoring it to their interests. Posters for favorite movies, a band you saw together or a location you visited will mean far more to the recipients than many gifts that cost far more out of pocket.

For individuals who love cooking, a custom recipe collection makes a perfect favor. You can use either a scrapbook or a recipe box, both of which are readily available blank and empty, allowing you to decorate and personalize them. The recipes you include can be family dishes, meals you made together and other choices that are personal both to you and the person for whom it is intended.

A perfect option for sports fans is simply a piece or two of equipment for their favorite sport. This does not have to be a huge investment either. A football, a baseball glove, a Frisbee or a basketball cost only a few dollars each at most sporting goods stores. Of course, you can give the same item to each groomsman or bridesmaid or you can give each person a unique gift depending on his or her favorite sport.

If you have the time and inclination, you can even design your own miniature gift bags to use as favors. You can tailor the contents of these bags to the interests of the recipient. For example, guitar picks and strings work well for a musically-inclined friend. Candy, snacks, nail polish and the like work well for nearly anyone.

The important thing to remember when looking for good deals on wedding favors is the effort you put in matters far more than the item. A unique, thoughtful favor that might mean the world to your bridesmaid or groomsman may cost you no more than a few dollars if you use your imagination.
